I highlighted these effects by collaging white strips of paper around the most interesting ones. I wet the paper first, then pour the acrylic paint straight from the bottle using my whole arm to make the gesture. I let the paint run together using a scraper to consolidate certain areas and make a composition that has a good shape filled with rhythmic lines.Fireworks in the Bayou Fireworks in the Bayou Wild and Free Series Size: 22" x 30" Media: Watermedia Price: $1000 Fireworks is another gestural painting using my whole arm to pour the liquid acrylic colors on the water color paper. I use a mister bottle to move the painting along. The name was given after the painting was finished.Patches of Light #2 Patches of Light #2 Size: 22" x 30" Media: Watermedia Price: $1000 In this painting I used a very thin masking tape to make some straight lines to add interest to the gestural curved lines poured from the bottles of acrylic paint. This succeeded in making some very interesting shapes.Dance of Spring Dance of Spring The Altar Series Size: 30" x 22" Media: Watermedia Price: $1000 From "The Altar" series I have painted nearly 500 paintings in all sizes using this composition with different colors and different subject matter. I use a hot waxer to make the lines, cold water dyes to make the color on Lanaquarelle water color paper and gouache to embellish the subject.Rainbows Rainbows Inside Looking Out Series Size: 30" x 22" Media: Inks Price: $1000 These paintings are painted with inks poured onto a wet piece of water color paper. Left to right the value changes from dark to light. I think of it as the inside of me (dark) looking towards the light. The fish symbol is symbolic of Christ within me seeking the light. When dry, I used gouache (an opaque water color medium) to bring out the Christian symbols. First I paint the water color paper very wet in black. Then I float a sheet of clear plastic into the wet acrylic. After it dries, I remove the plastic. It leaves a light grey print on the paper. Many of the prints look almost but not quite like an animal, bird, or fish. Then I make a drawing of it and project it onto a large sheet of paper or canvas. This makes another painting from the first one.
